HydroChem Industrial Services, Inc. provides a wide variety of professional cleaning services to various companies throughout the United States. For years, workers would be required to fill out pre-printed service receipts on site while completing a job. After the job was complete, the service receipt was signed by the customer and would serve as the source for invoicing and payroll data entry.

Problem
There were many variations of these customer contracts. For instance, you wouldn’t have the same standards for an oil refinery as you might have for a paper mill. They both require different cleaning operations.

Solution
HydroChem opted for a more technological process in order to make jobs easier and more cost efficient. They needed a tool that would allow their crew leaders to produce a service receipt at the job site as well as automatically enter the information needed into their billing and payroll systems. Since HydroChem’s customer base consisted of oil refineries, paper mills, and other industrial corporations, they would also require a more durable piece of hardware to help the workers get the job done.

The Xplore iX104 Tablet met all of their requirements. Not only did it have all of the ammenities that HydroChem was looking for, but it was durable and it had a large screen that would produce broader features. The Xplore iX104 Tablet also has a UL-1604, Class 1 Division 2 rating for hazardous locations. This means the tablet will not emit a spark if used in a flammable environment where volatile gases may be present.

Results
These rugged tablets gave impeccable performances in a wide variety of extreme environments, from the Texas heat to the
Minnesota cold. They are able to withstand prolonged salt exposure, water, temperatures ranging from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit,
and many other harsh conditions. HydroChem continues to use the Xplore Tablet which makes all of their service receipts electronic.
The receipts are stored on the Xplore Tablet until the job is complete. The receipt is then printed out for customer approval and all of the
information on the Xplore Tablet can be automatically entered into the billing and payroll system at the end of the day.
